Original lithograph
posters from the Ricordi Portfolio, published by the famous Italian printer Giovanni
Ricordi in 1914. The portfolio collection included 70 lithographic prints of
posters printed between 1895 and 1914, including the works of famous graphic
artists Hohenstein, Cappiello, Caldanzano, Cavaleri, Dudovich, Laskoff, Metlicovitz and Mataloni.
These are authentic 1914 prints from the portfolio.

Laskoff. A dramatic rearing white horse with a black caped rider lithograph poster by Polish born Franz Laskoff in indigo blue, gray, and vivid red. This striking image advertises the socialist party newspaper, Avanti!. Published from 1896 until 1955, its most well-known editor was Benito Mussolini.

Metlicovitz. A bare chested strongman holds a bull by its horns, by Leopoldo Metlicovitz. From the Ricordi Portfolio, published by G. Ricordi, Milano, Italia, 1914, 14-1/8" x 10-1/4" overall, 10-1/2" x 6-3/4" image size. Developed in 1840 as a nutritious supplement for people unable to afford meat, Liebig Beef Extract quickly became a staple in middle class Victorian households as well as for soldiers and adventurers. The poster is lithographed in navy blue, brown, gray, and white.
